Recommend a USB battery charger

Right! 2 Days stuck in the back of beyond in Cumbria, with, rather surprisingly a decent 8Mbps data signal but no 'leccy has left me in need of a USB battery charger that has some 'oomph' to give myself and Mrs Dos_Box enough power to last a few days.

But of any of you can recommend something better for the same or less it would be much appreciated.

 

*Quick anecdote - I was rather surprised at BETT this year when we went out for our evening meal and almost all of the stand staff produced USB battery chargers when someone mentioned their phone was running low on charge!

Had a few different batteries over the years (including the massive thing that I had at BETT ), but can recommend Anker battery packs as being pretty cheap and fairly reliable. Something like Anker Astro E5 15000mAh Portable Ultra-high-density External Battery Charger for iPhone 5 (Lightning adapter not included), 4S, 4, iPad 4, 3, 2, Mini, iPods; Samsung Galaxy S4, S3, S2, Note 2; Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1, Note 8, Tab 2; HTC One, EVO, Th will give you 15000mah and 2 USB ports to charge from. If you want massive power have a look at the Anker Astro Pro2 - 20000mah and includes a DC output to charge laptops!

Friend has one of those that you have linked to Dos_Box (at least i think its that one it looks the same) and he loves it, reckons it can charge his Galaxy S3 5 - 6 times has lived most of last week camping without electric and his mobile was on all the time so either it works or his galaxy s3 developed an amazing ability to retain battery life....

That looks like a beast, I fear I'd never need quite that much power though, and it does seem to be £10 more than I really wanted to spend and the Pro 2 is £76!!

Unless you are a journalist or someone who works in the third world I think that most us us wouldn't need something quite as bad-ass as that beastie!

I have an anker 8400mha charger (similar to above) and it is the best thing ever. Had a problem with it and anker sent me a replacement that was the upgraded model free (under warranty).

 

I get about 5 recharges from my pack and it goes everywhere with me for about 2 years now.

@Dos_Box. If you still have a Nexus 4, you may want to install Franco's Kernel since his updater app has an option to enable fast charging over USB.

I have the 10k mAh Anker charger and it's awesome. It's about the same size a Galaxy Note 2 (thicker though) so it's easily pocketable too.

Duly ordered. TBH, I'd not heard of Anker until I started looking for USB chargers. They seem to have the market in their pocket with good reviews across the board.
