From 4 September, final value fees for all private sellers will change, as well as insertion fees for private sellers with a Basic Shop on eBay.co.uk

 

Final value fees change for all private sellers

 

Final value fees will be charged based on the combined value of the item listed plus postage. For example, if an item sells for £20 with postage cost of £4, the final value fee will be charged based on the combined value of £24. This will not apply if the listing offers collection only.

 

So they say don't inflate postage charges in the rules.

 

And since postage has gone through the roof in the last 3 months we have to charge the going rate.

 

And now we have to charge the going rate and 10% on top so that ebay can make more money on people's postage costs.

 

Sadly fees are making ebay lots of money and no fun for traders.

eBay has been utter turd from a sellers point of view for the last few years, really wouldn't dare go near it now. These days, sadly, it's better to sell locally via the various Facebook pages available.

Or Gumtree, they're not bad - can get some decent bargains there too from a buyer's perspective.
