pfSense, Squid, and HTTPS

Hi guys, I'm a little stuck.

 

I have a pfSense server with Squid 3 installed. I think I've correctly configured it as HTTP proxy is working fine. My problem is that I cannot get HTTPS traffic to pass through at all.

 

We have our LEA proxy (also running Squid) which we are using as an upstream proxy (configured in the remote cache section of the proxy settings).

 

I'm not using transparent proxy and manually entering the proxy settings on the PC.

 

I've checked firewall rules and I'm allowing 80 and 443.

 

Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

I do believe you have to have certificates and things setup to do it - We use pfSense and Squid 3 to do our filtering, we also have our LEA proxy in the remote settings but we just push all our HTTPS traffic to their Filtering.

 

In the Firewall Section > Rules > LAN - Check that 443 is open.

Thanks. Yes, that's what I'm trying to do. I've opened 443 to the upstream proxy but it's not working.

 

I have LAN 443 > * as a test.

 

Basically I just want to allow my desktop to access the HTTPS upstream proxy.
