Exchange 2010 to 2013

I'm building a brand new Exchange Server on 2013, I have to take down and remove my old 2010 Exchange server.

 

Is there a way to export / migrate the database from 2010 to 2013 ?

 

Is it going to be possible for me to make it so that the users will still have all the emails / settings etc when connected to the new Exchange server ?

 

Would an upgrade work straight from the Server 2012 ISO ?

We are currently doing this, though from 2007. Was much easier than we realised. Built Exchange 2013 and it just slots in. You can then migrate using the Exchange 2013 tools and mailboxes just move across. Don't take your old mail server down until you are all done and then make sure you uninstall as otherwise you will have left over cruft in the AD.

I am planning on building a brand new 2012 server then installing Exchange 2013, I will see what Exchange tools can do for me.

Take a look through this forum section for a recent thread by FN-GM, lots of info in there from when we were doing ours a few days ago.

As mrbios says there is a few bits about it. Use powershell to migrate the mailboxes to the new databases. It can be done live and will have minimum disruption.

Months ago? I thought it wasn't supported until CU2?

 

That's another thing cpj.....make sure you install CU2 and do the AD and domain schema updates FROM CU2 before installing it.
