tech-man Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 Hello When I am logged in to the server with domain administrator I can access the SOLUS3 management console and add/remove workstations etc.... if I login to the server as a different user I am unable to do anything.... Does anyone know which permissions I need to grant and where? Many thanks
Rawns Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 Do you get an error? SOLUS3 is a hog when it comes to permissions. One area a user needs full permissions to is the Machine Keys directory. Also full permissions to the SOLUS3 UI and SOLUS 3 service folder is essential.
tech-man Posted July 30, 2013 Author Posted July 30, 2013 It seems to be more of a SQL database access issue.....
matt40k Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 Top of my head... it's file permissions like Rawns said, unless you've used Windows Auth - in the S3 UI connection thingy. C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Crypto\RSA\MachineKeys Take ownership of the file starting: 1728b (if you open it in notepad it should have SOLUS in it - innit give everyone full access Also give everyone full control of: c:\programdata\solus 3 If it's db, then I think people need db_dataread and db_dataWriter, you can check however what's assigned in sql management studio 2
tech-man Posted August 5, 2013 Author Posted August 5, 2013 I can open SOLUS 3 and go to "SOLUS3 Agents" and I can see a list of the computers. When I click "Update environment" I get the following....
Rawns Posted August 5, 2013 Posted August 5, 2013 I can open SOLUS 3 and go to "SOLUS3 Agents" and I can see a list of the computers. When I click "Update environment" I get the following.... Not seen that in SOLUS3 before. Looks like a call to Capita is required...
neilenormal Posted August 5, 2013 Posted August 5, 2013 Although your screenshot shows a blank for channels, can you click the downward arrow and see sims/fms with zeros in all the fields? Fix, if it's same, was (on server) to re register school/site with Capita with solus3 password, then ensure permissions are "everyone full control" on: c:\program data\capita c:\program data\solus3 C:\Program data\microsoft\crypto\RSA\machine keys\1d...... (File begins 1d.....) [might need to take ownership first] Restart solus3 deployment and agent services on server HTH 1
Ghostgame Posted August 5, 2013 Posted August 5, 2013 Hmm have you checked the permissions on (i think) c:\program data\solus3\modules folder? Check to see that that everyone has full control on the folder.
