I can understand pedestrians and bicyles but why not someone on horseback?

Ah yeah that'll be it - it'll be in case the staff get a good kicking when they invariably get your order wrong :D

Probably down to hygiene. Its a place that serves food and horses have an amazing propensity to dump a massive load of cr@p and pee all over the place. Would you really want to smell/see that as you sit down to a nice meal with your family? :deadhorse:

 

Health and safety for the staff too I would imagine.

 

Horse could probably get offended that you are eating one of its cousins and rear up causing injury...
