MS Office 2010 of 2013 for teacher laptop

Hi,

 

I was just wondering if anyone could give some advice on where to get MS Office 2010 or 2013 for teachers' laptops for relatively cheap price (I'm not talking about office 365).

 

We only need 5 office licences for the laptops that teachers use mainly at school but sometimes at home too.

I'd say it depends if they're using SIMs. I don't think (although I may have missed the latest update) that SIMs currently is "officially" supported on 2013 yet for reports etc is it?

 

Was only from Autumn 2013 in the last roadmap I looked at.

I think Office 2010 is easier to use and works better.

 

Office 2012 has a strange effect by default that smooths out what ever you type, which is a little put off putting.

We are using 2013 with SIMS with no apparent problems. We buy our licences through the LEA.

That's one of its best features - the hardware accelerated UI.

Cheers guys. Has anyone got any particular website/provider that you buy Office 2010 from for school laptops?

Talk to someone like Phoenix or Millgate and you should be able to buy the education licenses (about £30-£50 each if memory serves) for the latest version then use the downgrade rights to get 2010 for the Volume License Service Center website.
