Themes please..

Hey guys

 

I am trying to create a group [policy which applys to all users the same theme which I have created. This includes many desktop background pictures and windows colours. Whenever I seem to be adding them to load a specific theme on GPO it doesn't apply the theme after I've even done gpupdate /force???? really confused the path it's pointing to is in the right place also. If any of you have a script or anything else to allow this to happen I would really appreciate it

Did you get this working? I am looking at this now and there doesn't seem to be an easy solution.

 

If you were trying to use the gp setting User\policies\admin templates\control panel\personalization\Load a specific theme, this won't work as it only effects new users (bloody irritating that!).

 

The easiest way I have come up with is to set the basic aero theme by gpp reg setting and copy over an edited aero.theme file. I'll have a play a report back.

Think I have to admit defeat on this one.

Group Policy is out and comparing the reg changes from before and after a theme change shows that there is too much going on to replicate.

 

I did read that people had success with using the gp setting above and using loop back processing but just didn't work for me.

I did get this working with XP though group policy. I successfully applied the Royale theme to existing users on a suite of bootcamp macs. I cant remember exactly how I did it as i did it at a remote site. I also dont know if the same would apply with windows 7 as it did with XP. But I can always remote into the site in the near future and pull off the settings if you think that may be of use?
