KTVU lost all the tiny amount of credibility they had with this crash thing. These were the muppets that published an article on their site (also televised) with the statement that "The plane flipped upside down and ended up on it's back." A couple of lines above that statement was a picture of the plane, on fire, clearly very much the right way up. We might have some muppets in our media but they're rarely that bad.
