I feel I'm a little late to the chase here, I've read pretty much all of my opinions posted by other users!

 

This might just be me but one thing I would like to see more of is the roots of your business - you mention "The founders are 2 brothers and their

old university friend. From these close knit beginnings ...", I think more information regarding your growth from providing a local ICT service to a national PC manufacturer would be inspiring and help to portray a friendly image, separating yourselves the big money grabbers out there. While you have mentioned your "customer centric approach" throughout your brochure, a picture or two of your premises and friendly staff (hard at work of course) would help to visualise this. Also, the bloke in blue shouldn't thrust!! STOP IT!

 

On page 5, the "and the rest" text should not fade out.

 

In general the design is really nice.

Regarding the back story, it would be nice to go into more detail. When summarising all aspects of a company into a single concise document, getting all the facts on everything in there is pretty much impossible without making it far to long to be considered either concise or a summary any more. On review, we'll consider where perhaps too much detail on something important has been sacrificed for the sake of brevity, and where other aspects of the business may be condensible.

 

Getting feedback from you all in this thread has been an invaluable insight into how we should be pitching our communications and which kind of information you are more interested in - thanks everybody.

Fun Fact: Our filter freaks out if you google "Comic sans".

 

Comic sans may be appropriate sometimes [which I doubt], but it's never appropriate for serious business.

 

 

I agree with @kearton about the logos. I have the PDF maxed out on a 27" screen and the text on the Windows 8 logo is still really small. [it doesn't help that it's pretty much a blue square]

I see - well in that case I cannot guarantee the mice are vegan, but they might be (or they might not be, it all depends where that glycerine comes from).

 

EDIT - vegan mice, fed on lettuce, tofu and other vegan sweets like Veggie Percy from M&S

We got ours from Hancocks, a chain of wholesalers specialising in confectionery. You should see their warehouse, it's like a wonderland/drab industrial building of sweeties; floorboards to rafters with old-fashioned sweets in jars and more recent branded stuff too. They've got just about everything - I saw a box full of of marshmallows each the size of my arm.

 

They sell online too: Assorted Sugar Mice | Buy Wholesale Sweets - Wholesale Sweets

 

There is a branch in Bristol that might be useful to you: Find my Nearest Hancocks

 

You can pay a £1 day fee to drop in at your branch and buy what you want (at least that was an option at our branch in Sheffield).

 

If you want a Cash and Carry card to use the warehouse without the day fee, you need to be able to prove you are a business with bank statements/utility bills and there is a minimum £100 spend on first visit. We managed to load up well over this amount in future give-aways for promotions on EduGeek and treats for our staff. It is one of those eyes-bigger-than-your-stomach/wallet type places and restraint is needed to avoid the temptation of just buying one of everything!
