Truancy Call connection problemsl

So I have just installed a new version of Truancy call on a Windows 7 PC.

 

Have not completed the 'final' stage of set up, after installation as cannot get that far.

 

When I open Truancy Call it tries to download an update then an error pops up 'Truancy Call did not successfully download required update - please try running Truancy Call again.'

If I OK that, it tries a different update and then another update says 'Unable to connect to Truancy Call - please ensure your internet connection is working.......'

 

There is an internet connection which works.

 

A bit stumped now!! Anyone seen this before?

Is it a permissions/UAC problem? Truancy call updates require write access to the program files directory which requires elevated permissions.
