Rawns Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 (edited) You lucky, lucky Steam Linux users! Left 4 Dead 2 is now avaiable with 75% off! It would be criminal not to buy it! I'm looking at you @localzuk! At £3.74, it's a steal! Edited July 4, 2013 by Rawns
Rawns Posted July 4, 2013 Author Posted July 4, 2013 Save 75% on Left 4 Dead on Steam Not really worth it to be honest. All the maps from L4D1 have since been ported into L4D2. Plus L4D1 is not compatible with Linux.
featured_spectre Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 ahh but L4D1 can be played among my friends that have it and still play...same for L4D2...some get more enjoyment from 1 than 2
localzuk Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 Not a game I'm interested in sadly. I am impressed with the volume of Linux games on there now though.

LosOjos Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 I am impressed with the volume of Linux games on there now though. Yeah the Linux gaming scene is really gathering steam... From an indie perspective, it doesn't make sense not to make a Linux version of your game IMO - there are tools out there to make porting a piece of cake. MonoGame for instance looks very interesting, I'm putting something together on that at the moment just to see how good it really is at porting but theoretically you write your code once and then simply compile for Windows, Windows 8 "Modern", Linux, Mac OS X, iOS and Android - all using the XNA framework. Bastion is the best known game developed with it AFAIK.
