Exchange Certs

If I already have self-signed certs - how can I make a new cert with a different domain name to the one i'm currently using and self sign it ?

 

For example, the company I am managing exchange for is previously company.local, all certs are with that name internally, and they also have company.com certs too. Said company has changed name and now wants certs to be newcompany.local and newcompany.co.uk and self sign the certs so that when Outlook is opened it doesnt display the cert warning. Before they changed mail hosts and domain names it was fine, but now they've changed mail hosts and domain names under a different domain, autodiscover keeps popping up when Outlook is opened.

 

The internal domain is still company.local and is the same as it has always been.

 

Will this work ?

There is a wizard in Exchange 2010 and 2013 that will configure your certifcate request all for you. I would use that it will mean its 100% correct.

I've created a new cert, but apparently its Certificate signing request pending. ??

 

How do I complete the pending request ?

You would have got a CSR, you need to put that into your CA. It will then spit of a certificate and you then import that into exchange.

ok thanks, no Idea where the CSR is.. I have one certificate that I used for the old domain, if I try and use that it says its already in use.

 

I hate Certificates!
