Anyone a data cable installer?

Just been talking to a company that I get some educational stuff from.

 

they have a few large contracts on at the moment and are looking at getting agency staff in to do some Cabling cat5 and 6. Now I have never done anything like that other than put rj45 ends on the end of some patch cables. I told the guy that and he said its OK and s going to pass my details on to someone in there team,I said I would have no problem shadowing someone till I picked it up.

 

I cant see it been that difficult to learn, but can someone tell me what it comprises of. is it just laying cables out, putting up trunking and terminating the cables?

They would probably use you for everything apart from the patch panel end although mostly it will just be pulling the cables. There are lots of things to consider though, working at heights, awareness of electrical cables etc.

I should imagine you will have to be shown how to watch for asbestos.
