Laptop Hardware Repairs

Just wondered whether anyone knew a reputable laptop repair company?

 

We've got a fair few broken screens on laptops we'd like repaired, and we've used Cambridge Laptop Repair a few times, and they're good, if you can get hold of anyone! Ideally would like someone to pick up laptops, fix them, return them and can do invoices!

@Millgate - possibly as they repair ios devices. Not sure ref laptops though

 

What make and models of laptops we talking?

 

Presume they

 

1.) Don't have any form of warranty cover by the manufacturer ?

2.) Or the screen or whatever was user damage so isn't covered under warranty - possibly ?

 

We just find the correct screen on ebay or the likes and replace them ourselves if

 

1.) warranty doesn't cover the damage ie user cracked the screen or w.e

2.) the laptops out of warranty

Unfortunately we can't buy from eBay, which makes sourcing screens that much harder!

 

We're generally talking old RM machines, or screens that are user damaged, or just old machines in general that aren't covered by the warranty.

How many laptops are there? Could be worth my while if there are a few.

We have had a couple of different versions of RM laptops and was able to find replacement screens from Laptop Screens | Laptop Screen | Laptop LCD Screens | Replacement Laptop Screens | Broken Laptop Screen - Home. You will have better luck finding a replacement screen by opening up the laptop and looking at the model number on the back of the actual screen rather than searching for the laptop model name.

That is what we have to do with our Lenovos, take the front plastic facia off the screen, unscrew aprox 4 or 6 screws and then disconnect the ribbon cable , take the screen out, make a note of the Part Number and FRU Number and then use those to find a replacement screen.

 

Obviously how you get the screen out may vary depending on make and model of the laptop(s)
