im looking to do a audit of the computers on our network and was wondering if anyone can recommend any free software that will go off find the information for me. i dont want to have to go to every computer.

Is LAN sweeper free? Iv been looking at open audit

Lansweeper is excellent, i have used the for years for inventories and audits and it is brilliant, i think the costs only come into play when you use the premium tools however we do pay a superscription and it is worth every penny. I don't think it is actually that expensive if i recall.

i need a free piece of software, that will do a audit of the network so i can run reports and justify upgrades. needs to have hardware specs and list of software with different versions.
