I am looking for some infirmation on how to create qr codes and have them linked to you tube videos.

 

What i am trying to do is take the childrens displays which normally just show the name of the child that created it and make it more interactive.

 

I would like a qr code next to the display which could link to an internal ir external hosted video if the child explaining what they had created.

 

Has anyone done anything similar snd how please ???

If you're doing this manually all you really need to do is upload the video somewhere, and use a free generator: Free QR Code Generator and QR Management with Tracking, Analytics and Support etc.

 

Or are you trying to make this dynamic?

You have lost me, the qr is new to me what do you mean by dynamic ???

As in are you manually going to make the codes for each slide? Or did you want a program that will automatically make them no matter how many you put in, and what its pointing to etc?

 

They're basically the same as a short URL

Automatic would be nice, i will have a look at the site when i get home and hav a play.

If you use Google Chrome, you could install the goo.gl URL shortener extension to generate both a QR code and a short URL (along with stats too).

 

1. Go to the YouTube video you want to link to in Chrome.
   
2. Click the goo.gl button on the toolbar.
   
3. Click the QR Code link and then on the QR code itself. This will open it in a new tab.

4. From there, you can then either save the QR code (right-click the image » Save image as...) or adjust the size of the QR code by changing the width and height parameters in the URL (highlighted in red below), press Enter and then save the image.

   To view the stats, simply append .info to the short URL and open the link in your browser. i.e. goo.gl/LoetL becomes goo.gl/LoetL.info
