We are looking at opening up a Post16 SSID so that students can use their own laptops to access the net.

I was wondering if anyone has got any acceptable use policies on BYOD that they could share, just to cover my own back.

If not, what kind of things should go into it?

Thanks

We use "don't be evil" although recently we found we had to add "and pay your taxes".

Seriously, I assume our standard AUP is in play; so stuff about being provided for educational use and being a good 'digital citizen' (respect myself, protect myself, respect & protect others, don't steal content etc).

We used our standard AUP plus a signed disclaimer for the BYOD system mentioning about the need for AV etc....

I don't have it to hand but if you e-mail me @timbo343 I will fire it to you / stick it up when I'm home

Too many policies and guidelines either confuses people, or ensures they wont read the vast quantities in my opinion. We've created a kind of 'connect with respect' ethos around provision. Simple straightforward rules which should cover everyone's devices, and any medium.

Sounds good. Care to share?
