404 when trying to download a file

Just recently installed HAP and am very impressed.

 

Wondering if anyone can shed some light on an issue we're having with file downloads?

 

When a user double clicks on a file they get a 404 error.

 

I've run it through FireBug and it just gives this:

 

"NetworkError: 404 Not Found - https://schoolname.co.uk/HAP/Download/N/%FileName%"

can you look on the server at the event logs, see if you can find any more information. What is the file name's extension?

Thanks for getting back to me.

 

The only errors in the event log are due to HAP not finding an image for my users.

 

It does it for any file I try to download .doc, .pdf, .xml etc.

The ticket thing points to a user trying to access HAP+ with an invalid logon token

Possibly a red herring then as I'm logged in fine.

 

Have now built a new server and reinstalled IIS, HAP+ etc. Sadly the same issue occurs

 

Not sure if it's relevant but the Download folder that it tries to open when I try and download doesn't exist (i.e. schoolname.co.uk//HAP/Download/N/ Is this meant to be dynamically created when a download is initaiated, or do I need to create it?

No I've not managed to fix this one, can't work it out at all, my setup is pretty standard: IIS 7.5, Server 2008 R2, accessed through IE9, also tried Firefox and IE10 with the same results.

 

Shame as I think it looks like an excellent solution, once this is solved I will certainly be investigating the other functions of HAP+

Exactly the same set up here..

 

The head likes this a lot, very clean interface. Annoying to have everything so close and then fail!

I just can't figure this error out, do you have WEBDAV installed on the server?

How would I know if WEBDAV is installed? Is it an IIs add on? I'm not too familiar with web hosting but keen to learn about it!

removed webdav role service and reinstalled it and it is now working.

 

time to configure the other functions now.

Thanks, WEBDAV can cause all sorts of issues with HAP+. Just sprung into my mind that one
