Dos_Box Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 At last. The mythical landfill where millions of copies of Atari's notorious ET game have been buried is now being sought out. For those of you who are of a *AHEM* younger persuasion, ET was one of the earliest examples of a movie tie-in game. And as such was rushed out of development and critically panned by both reviewers and gamers alike. It was really that bad. you thought Duke Nukem Forever was bad? Well, ET was many magnitudes worse than that . If I recall my gaming history correctly Atari actually produced more copies than there were consoles sold such was the folly of this project! It was so bad that Atari buried the entire stock in a landfill. Millions of copies. Anyway the BBC have done an article on it here: BBC News - ET game excavation confirmed by studio
LiamH Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 Thought were were talking about return to castle wolfenstein : enemy territory, that game was awesome! Hope its not like the buried spitfire thing all over again
CHR1S Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 So, they are releasing a new ET game? Or a film remake? What's the PR stunt for?
