[acs] {Progresso} Sharing Reports

I've just started a thread on the Progresso FirstLine Forum, although realised it might be better posting on here instead as it will probably get more interest and their forum isn't very good!

 

To try and add a little value to everyones use of Progresso, I've decided to start a thread for people to share the reports they have created which may be of use to others.

 

I will start it off with a couple of reports I've done. Also share any ideas for reports and widgets, even if you don't know how to create them someone else may be able to.

I've attached 2 reports which I've done which can be used as a widget. They allow you to choose either a member of staff or a student from a list and it will display that persons timetable for the date including which room they are in. This has been really useful for our pastoral and admin teams.

We've been very reluctant to go to Progresso, can you confirm that this isn't a default widget? The quick ability to find people is surely a minimum requirement on online MISs?

Of course you can find people using the system! This just makes it much quicker by putting a simple drop down on the users front page allowing them to quickly select which student or staff member and display their classes and rooming information for today.

I know there has been a lot of negative press from schools about Progresso but I have to stay that firstly, ACS have done amazing things turning around the product concentrating on performance and stability before looking at changing in functionality. Secondly, once you start using the product and the reporting engine you will see the power this system has. This is a full business inteligence solution for education and has some amazing potential for education.

Cheers for sharing, Mark, I look forward to borrowing your reports for a speedy take up on implementation and hopefully contributing in the near future Nice to hear some positivity about Progresso too, especially so close. Communication since ACS have taken over does seem to have improved, especially considering the flack they're getting for mistakes made prior to their acquisition.

Thanks for the reply. Here's a similar class list that allows selection of a day/date and a period in the day and will display a class list for every (or selected classes) for that period. Really useful if you need to produce paper registers for a certain period of the day, or for supply teachers registers.

 

It might need a few little tweeks to make it work in different schools.
