Bellydancer Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 Hi Im having problems with RM tutor 5. I'm running it in one class room with all windows 7 machines all the machines can be connected apart from the whiteboard computer. when connecting from the whiteboard none of the other computers appear on the list, but when i go on the tech console they all appear and can be controlled. on other computers in the room they can all see the other machines apart from the whiteboard which has the icon appear but fails to connect. anyone got any ideas why it might be doing this? or got the same problem?
tj2419 Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 On the student computers in the room have you only got the RM tutor 5 client and not the teacher or tech console version? We found that if you have more than one version of tutor on a machine then it stops working and you then have to uninstall all tutor 5 software on that machine, restart it and then reassign the client. 1
Bellydancer Posted June 7, 2013 Author Posted June 7, 2013 Hi i only have the client on the student computers but we have 3 admin computers, one being the whiteboard. on the admin computers the RM Tutor 5 package is installed with nothing else. Thanks for the info
rad Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 Have you got location link installed on this computer too? Log a call with RM if you havent done so already. We have yet to go onto W7 so I cant answer anymore.
Bellydancer Posted June 7, 2013 Author Posted June 7, 2013 Hi, thanks we can't calls with RM we have a seperate company. Just uninstalled RM tutor from all the computers again this time it seems to have worked installed, i've also installed a tech console instead of having 3 computers with it on, dont know if thats had an impact but has fixed one of the machines as yet. Thanks again for the messages very helpful.
ajs Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 That situation can often happen if you end up with 2 version of RM Tutor installed and remove one of them as it will remove everything related to the Tutor install. Glad it's working after a reinstall. 1
