creese Posted June 3, 2013 Posted June 3, 2013 Anyone know of reasonable priced Timetabling software as an alternative to NovaT 6. For a Special school from Year 5 up, with only 32 pupils. NovaT is too expensive.
BKGarry Posted June 3, 2013 Posted June 3, 2013 I have the Timetablers Cookbook which always references this Free trial : timetable software ... for timetabling school timetables ... for easier scheduling. not sure on the cost though 1
vikpaw Posted June 3, 2013 Posted June 3, 2013 For that few students I'd use Excel or do it on paper. Most timetablers do drafts and initial plans on paper anyway. 1
TLARWise Posted June 3, 2013 Posted June 3, 2013 A quick search for Free Timetable software came up with FET - Free Timetabling Software for your minimal usage it may be worth looking in to. 1
Jamman960 Posted June 3, 2013 Posted June 3, 2013 We used Timetabler (as per BKGarry's Suggestion) before switching to Sims and using NT6, my line manager was very happy with it from what I can gather and only switched to NT6 due to the sims integration etc James 1
creese Posted June 3, 2013 Author Posted June 3, 2013 not sure on the cost though Apart from the initial licence it's the same as Nova, but thanks anyway.

vikpaw Posted June 3, 2013 Posted June 3, 2013 That's what they do now. Someone gave them false info that Nova was free. Nova T4 was given free to Africa some time ago via some charity. They were trying to collate manuals and provide limited support. When i last found some manuals and wrote to them, the emails bounced. Timetabler is good but not sure of the cost. I guess if you don't need support for it, and don't need the facility to transfer to SIMS then it might be worth the initial investment for the features you'll get. It also had Cover but i don't know if that was a separate module.

Maybe the person who told them was confused and read about it being free in Africa.
