Not paying attention while sliding an SD card into the slot in our all in one this evening and put it in the CD drive slot by mistake. Now the :censored: thing won't come out :(

Have decided to leave it to the morning before trying more extraction techniques. If this was a school machine, it wouldn't matter so much, but it's the family computer new 6 months ago. It's not the end of the world; I am just furious with myself for not looking at what I was doing :(

Really easy to take apart cd/dvd drives, make the drive slide out just a fraction so you can lift off the end of the drive (slides up) front bezel unclips, unscrew all the screws underneath and the top and bottom metal pieces just lift off.

I've had to do that more than once as you can probably tell :p The first time being when i was only little and my command and conquer renegade game CD blew up (literally) inside the drive, drive still worked mind.

EDIT:.....wait a minute, have you been drinking? because an SD card in a CD drive is quite the mistake!

1. Yes I have enjoyed half a bottle of Chateuneuf du Pape this evening

2. This isn't a CD drawer. It's an open slot fractionally above the SD slot round the side of the base of the all in one; so in my defence it is a 'feel for the right hole' operation... But I should have taken more care :(
