Hi,

I was wondering if someone can help me. I've just been asked to make another report, a CSV file, containing account information such as sort code, account number etc. This is going to be used to set up direct debits with our bank.

The csv file needs to have roughly 30 columns per person, but only 4 or 5 of these are pieces of information from SIMS, the rest are constants that will not change. I can create the report and add in blank columns which will then allow me to export to excel and fill in the information but I was wondering if there is any way to do this within SIMS by setting a value for each blank column so that the accounts department can just upload the file without any manipulation of the data?

Thanks in advance.

You could make aspects in assessment manager and fill the data in their. We've done that before, but it's better for student information, plus you don't really want certain info, possibly private, being accessible to all with assessment manager rights.

How often does it need to be run, can't you just set the blank columns and paste the data in.

You could do a complex Excel report, with a macro that adds the info in from another sheet / file at run time.

Hey,

What I set up was a report that just pulled out the information that was required from SIMS and I wrote a macro that converted the data into the right format and created the csv file. The problem is that it requires someone to cut and paste from one excel spreadsheet to another. That can be a major task for some people!!!!!
