Server 2003 32bit to server 2008 sp2 upgrade

Hello all,

 

I am having a issue upgrading server 2003 32bit to Server 2008 Sp2 32bit. It upgrades but then I keep getting IIS issue going from IIS6 to IIS7. I keep getting event ID of 2214 and when I restart the IIS it fails to startup. What Im I missing?

I would imagine that might be down to permissions - check the relevant folders IIS uses (inetpub usually) and see if sorting permissions out helps.

 

I have to ask though, why upgrade from one defunct OS to another?

Not my idea my Bosses that it would save time. Plus they have some application running on it that would have to have a 3rd party to pay. But know Im having all sorts of IIS issues. I have not really played around with upgrading IIS. The main upgrade went fine but know just IIS.

Also getting Calling LoadLibraryEx on ISAPI filter "C:\Windows\Microsoft.Net\Framework\v4.0,3,0,319\aspnet_filter.dll. I also try to run the aspnet_regiis and it gives me a MSVCR100_CLR0400.dll was not found.

When I click on the link for the symantec wbsite under IIS I got that error. I did the following and it went away>> Removed ASP.net 4.0 from the ISAPI filter and it started working again? Please advice so I can better understand.
