Cooners Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 Hi I'm hoping theres an answer to this. Is there any way to download windows updates to say a NAS drive and run them from there, I'm currently in a school that uses a mac server for some reason so the windows machines are completely unmanaged. I've turned one on this morning and the updates are a year out of date and the virus scanner is the same. Theres 30 of these in total and I don't think the macs and ipads are in any better state TBH. The internet connection is terrible at the moment, it's going to take me a lifetime to download to them all via windows updates, I was just wondering if I could speed things up a little by downloading the updates to the NAS and running from there? I know a WSUS server would be the best thing but they are dead against a windows server by the looks of it. Many Thanks
jacklindsay Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 or WSUS offline WSUS Offline Update - Update Microsoft Windows and Office without an Internet connection never used it but my colleagues have and say its pretty good
Cooners Posted May 20, 2013 Author Posted May 20, 2013 Thanks for both ideas. Currently trying out autopatcher, can't seem to get it to pick any updates up after Feb 2013 though. Will look into WSUS offline as well.
