BYOD Insurance

Hello,

 

How have any of you tackled the insurance of personal devices in your school. Do you require the students have there own insurance or do you cover their device with the schools policy?

I am just guessing here but I would imagine that the onus would be on them. You could look at getting a company in to offer an insurance service but I wouldn't see how it was down to the school.

We looked into this, our insurance company clearly stated we do not cover students equipment it is on them. So we added this to the AUP. Sent out a email to all students and their parents informing them of this.
