trivers1982 Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 Hi We have nearly always gone for the lowest available version of Windows on our PCs so we can upgrade it using our EES license. However as a huge bulk of PCs are needing to be purchased this year we spoke to our EES supplier and they have quoted for PCs with Linux quoting "as long as you PAY for a base OS it doesnt matter which it is." Can anyone confirm if this is correct or not, we are talking about a potential £5,000 saving! Thanks T
DMcCoy Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 Linux is not a qualifying OS http://download.microsoft.com/download/C/1/5/C1587D8B-889A-4072-977E-FD7FA63B9D36/Qualifying%20for%20Windows%20Volume%20Licensing.pdf
trivers1982 Posted May 10, 2013 Author Posted May 10, 2013 Seems a bit strange (dodgy even) that they are suggesting it then. Especially we we buy both our PCs and agreement from them!

Millgate Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 It's sooooooo frustrating because A LOT of suppliers claim to know what they're talking about when it comes to EES agreements but they don't!!! I've had to sort out stacks of agreements that were mis sold &/or set up incorrectly. If you are unsure, drop me an email or a call and I'll check it out for you. I'll provide you with a quote too.
Millgate Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 Feeling the Friday Rage there eh @Millgate Ha, a bit!!!

Our EES is not due for a few months yet, but I will do. Guess I have to go back and get re-quotes for all the PCs!
