Yay all working! A 3 hour call to ms support. 4 reinstalls and a complete removal later. Turns out its because I was trying to filter by group and ou! It's one or the other. Tested it with no ou and a new group and it worked great!

Looks like MS have fixed it!! Just waiting confirmation!

The group with all our students in. But I think it must be something strange, I have been on the phone to MS for 1 hour now and he is still trying things!

AD Connect Version - 1.0.8667 SQL is the version that installs with the installer (2008R2 express I believe). DC is Server 2012 R2 but I am not installing it on the DC its on an application server which is also Server 2012 R2. Dirsync has never been installed. This is the current Config-

Hi All Pulling my hair out over Office365 and Azure AD Connect at the moment. The constant knocks at the door for email passwords doesn't help! At the moment, my main aim is to have it so users in my AD are synced up to Office365, so on site passwords are the same as O365. I have installed the Azure AD Connect system (and re-installed 50+ times) but nothing is syncing, when I run the task the Full Import shows the Adds, the full sync shows the connectors have flow updates and projections for each of the users. The Export doesn't have anything in (not sure if this is correct!). Not sure if its a possible reason but students are [email protected] on site, but on Office 365 they are [email protected] . I have used IDfix on one of the test users and changed the domain suffix to [email protected] but no joy/sync. I have 1500 users already in Office365 (with equivalent accounts in on-site AD) and want to sync their passwords as well. Is it possible to sync them after creation and keep all the emails etc they already have? Sync on the Office365 and Azure page say sync was in the past hour so something is happening. For something that should be easy I seem to be struggling to get it working, I have screenshots of all the configs I am trying. I would really appreciate some ideas/help or the details of someone who can get it working for me and pay if needed!

Currently pulling my hair out about this. They want us to install a cert to every device that connects to the internet, both through the LAN and the transparent proxy service. We are filtered using lightspeed on the LAN and this is an easy GPO rollout and an auto config for the Domain PCs/Macs. The staff iPads and laptops are going to be a pain as we have to re-write the instructions for them to connect, then they have to actually do it! I can see us having a queue at the door! The transparent proxy is a different beast all together. First we have to roll out an auto-proxy (potentially meaning they have to type the Proxy URL in themselves), they then have to authenticate themselves to Lightspeed finally they will have to install 2 Certs before Google and Youtube will work! To top it all off self signed certs installed on iOS are not trusted by Chrome, which basically means that browser cant be used on iOS devices in school. WooHoo!

Was thjinking that but cant be bothered if SOLUS3 will solve it. Should only have 1 more update before we get it anyway.

Thats what I thought! The stupid thing is we migrated to SQL2012 over the easter break and they didnt install SOLUS3 then! Summer will be ideal as we can fresh rebuild all the PCs. **EDIT** HA!! We are using SOLUS2 I believe! That could be a solution. How do we go about upgrading? I know there was talk of all systems being migrated but not sure where Herts county stand in that respect.

We have installed the latest SIMS version and on the client systems UAC is getting in the way and asking users for their credentials before continuing. Unfortunately staff do not understand the differences between SIMS logins and PC logins so type their SIMS login to update the software. If they do type their login password it works so its not permissions. Even as an admin I get asked to confirm (with no password requested). How do you do it?? 1. Disable UAC completely? 2. Make users local admin? 3. A pre-run startup/login script to update it? Support have come up with 1 and 2 but I dont think they are acceptable! I think 3 is a viable solution and I could get it working however I don't think I should need to go this route, wanted some input from you guys before I do it. T

Well the good news is that we have not yet released it so I can delete all and re-set it all!

Thats the issue, I clicked the onedrive and sites links about 3 months ago. When I click it it still goes to the "setting up page". As an admin I can go in and see if the user has a site at whch point I get and error to say that user does not have a personal site.

So its activated, the question is why cant general users access it and create their sites? Admins can access and manage the main site, students can also access the site (although I have just locked permissions).

I have assigned Sharepoint since setting it all up, there is no individual lisence for OneDrive.

Hey Guys We have signed up for Office 365 and have got the emails set up, and ProPlus so the students can install office at home. Before we release it we want to get the OneDrive working, but this does not seem to work (I thought it would be default). I am not sure if Sharepoint is required for OneDrive. If I click on the OneDrive or sharepoint link it loops to the "Getting Started - refresh in a minute" page. It never goes further. Looking at the sharepoint settings users are allowed to create sites, however it does not seem to let them! I have seen a lot about Sharepoint Designer 2013 Hybrid integration but I dont really want to install it for one feature! I would be grateful for some help or a walkthrough that might help. Thanks T

That was my train of thought. I think its the trusting of the drive/application that needs fixing. Domain Admins dont get the prompt.

Deffo not giving users local admin rights! That would cause chaos!

Hi Guys Windows 7 rollout over the summer finally finished and staff were in today. They of course went to runs SIMS and came across an error when the update tries to run. I get the following pop up. Typing the users password works and then it asks a second time (for the second patch). I would like to remove the password request as my users dont seem to be able to grasp tying in a password and always click no (despite an all staff email). I guess its a trust issue to/on our network drive and UAC. I don't really want to turn UAC off though! Any ideas as to how to resolve it? Thanks Tom

Hey I am trying to configure Win7 with Office 2013 and have come across a sticky issue that is annoying and has me pulling my hair out! I am trying to use a roaming profile and opening files in office works great! However when it comes to Save as... I get two folders as a default options. Desktop My Documents Clicking on either one of these takes me to their profile folder \Windows\network Shortcuts. Ideally I would like to remove the desktop folder and just have My Documents. going to browse works just fine, it takes them to the setting I have configured in the GPO (Their my docs area). I am assuming it is a GPO/Appdata issue but just not sure. Anyone come across this or have a fix? T

Hey Guys/Girls Need a bit of a hand in my migration to W7. Basically in the XP system, we create the user account, create the folders for My Docs and Profiles folders on the server, Apply permissions then copy in the default profiles for the users. This is mostly done by a scripts of course! In Windows 7 I have basically got it to the point where I can get new users to log in and create a folder and profile (automagically). I have proved that this profile is being created from the local machine default profile by changing some reg keys in the profile before logging in. I also know that I can re-direct this default profile to the NETLOGON server. My real question is how do I make seperate profiles for staff and students? Obviously I can control a lot of the differences by GPO however its things like taskbar and Start menu pinned items that I need to change. Is this possible in W7? Ideally I would also like to pre-create the profile folders (and Data) before the user logs in but I guess this doesn't need doing if its auto loaded! So far my W7 to XP has been a pain but I am getting there! only 4 weeks to go until the summer!

Our EES is not due for a few months yet, but I will do. Guess I have to go back and get re-quotes for all the PCs!
