Drive mapping renames not working on new machines

Got some new PCs for office staff, and for some reason the drives that are mapped via a VBS script are not being renamed.

 

Any ideas why this might be happening?

Have you tried running the script manually to see if you get any errors? Can you post the script?

If I run it manually, the names sometimes appear, but then disappear back to general mappings.

Am trying it with an office user.

Just tested this again on an old machine, same user.

 

It works fine, the only think I can guess is that the new machines are too quick for the script?

 

Any ideas?

The script looks okay. Is it possible that another script is running after your script, or maybe there is something in the user profile that is changing this? Try creating a new office user and logon as them and see if you get the same problem.

Thanks for the tips altecsole but still no joy.

 

I'll take a look sometime later in the holidays, must be something which is machine specific?
