Since the migration of staff E-Mail [away from Exchange] I am getting more and more complaints about stations [or the network] performing slowly. This was not happening when we were not on Office365. Has anyone else experienced a slowing of their network after migration and what have you done about it if it has happened?

Many thanks.

Correlation does not necessarily equal causation. :)

How are your users accessing Office 365? The hit on bandwidth will depend on a number of factors:

- Are users using OWA or Outlook (also, which version?)?

- Are you using single sign-on?

- If users are using Outlook, are they trying to sync down huge mailboxes?

- How did you do your migration? If you did a hybrid/remote mailbox move then your OST file should still be valid for the mailbox in the new location. If not, users will need to pull down their mailbox again.

- Are your users using any of the other workloads?

and of course...

- Has anything else on your network changed?

I'd only expect to see your Internet bandwidth affected - and even then, not hugely.

Correlation does not necessarily equal causation: Agreed but I was asking the question and looking for anyone else with similar issues [Could have phrased the question better]

Are users using OWA or Outlook: OWA on Internet Explorer 8

Are you using single sign-on: We will not be using this until September when more work on our network has been completed.

If users are using Outlook, are they trying to sync down huge mailboxes: N/A since not using Outlook.

How did you do your migration? If you did a hybrid/remote mailbox move then your OST file should still be valid for the mailbox in the new location. If not, users will need to pull down their mailbox again: County did the migration for us: But I believe that my response here should again be N/A because we are not using Outlook yet.

Are your users using any of the other workloads: No.

Has anything else on your network changed: No. More work will be carried out in the Summer.

I'd be interested to see some statistics (if you have any) that show the difference in network traffic (internal, and inbound/outbound) between a local Exchange server vs. Exchange Online.

Other things you could try might be using a different version of IE (or a different browser) to see if there's any difference in performance, and also try bypassing any caching or proxy servers.

Are your users reporting problems only with their email, or the network in general - can you pull out some stats on concurrency for how many users are connected out to Office 365 at any one time?

It's the same with IE10 - I have three tabs open using up 9MB, 91MB and 137MB. I do think Office 365 eats up RAM, however it's to be expected as there's a hell of a lot going on in the browser.
