Fazza Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 Any ideas what might be causing this to happen on a HP Colour LaserJet 5225n? I've removed the toners and cant see anything on the OPC drums and I've swapped the fuser unit over with one from another printer of the same model and it's still printing these lines at the top of the page.
john Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 Transfer belt has skidmarks on it perhaps if it has a separate transfer belt?

Fazza Posted May 10, 2013 Author Posted May 10, 2013 There were no visible marks on the tranfer belt, we even gave it a thorough air-dusting but they still appeared. Fortunately we have one in IT Services so we swapped it over with the one in that and the lines disappeared so problem solved!

Glad that solved it the belt is probably worn / got a small mark on it / puddle of old toner stuck, give it a good manual rotate and clean and should be fine
Fazza Posted May 20, 2013 Author Posted May 20, 2013 Cleaning didn't make any difference. I even took it outside and gave it a good air dusting - wow there was a lot of loose toner in the mechanism as it formed a great big dust cloud in the car park!!! I swapped it out for the one in our office and it now prints OK and I have a replacement on order to sort our one out
