Chris_Jones Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 Hello all, Im trying to get VLC to stream DVB-T Channels across our network, using AngryTechnicians excellent guide The Issue I am having is, when attempting to launch the stream (or simply to play it locally for testing) VLC just gives a blank screen and generates the following warnings bda_la-bdagraph.lo warning: FindFilter: No filter connected bda_la-bdagraph.lo warning: Build: Cannot connect Sample Grabber to Capture device: hr=0x80004005 (try 1/2) then when the stream is stopped main error: cannot pre fill buffer main warning: cannot create a stream_t from access I'm using a Kworld UB499-2T USB Tuner, and it works fine on the same machine via Windows Media Center. Any ideas / suggestions?
AngryTechnician Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 Can you post a screenshot of the Open Media dialog right before you hit Play?
AngryTechnician Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 Try setting the Bandwidth dropdown to 8MHz instead of Automatic.
AngryTechnician Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 You might be out of luck with this tuner then, or at least the drivers you are using. I know some DVB drivers are fussy about automatically detecting settings, but the only other options you could set are ones such as transmission mode, guard interval, and FEC code rate under Advanced Options, and you need to know the precise details of the DVB mux in order to set them so they aren't normally necessary. Some drivers don't support direct access to the tuner at all, and that might be what you're looking at here. Out of interest, have you tried changing the Tuner card setting to 1 to see if you have any more luck with the second tuner?
Chris_Jones Posted May 7, 2013 Author Posted May 7, 2013 looks like I might need a different tuner card then. I tried setting those advanced settings but got the same error, Ditto with changing the tuner.
