NetworkNinja Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 If i was to do a IT Technician Job at a secondary school, what kind of courses should i look into to do while im working there ???
mrbios Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 Depends on your current level of expertise and the equipment you're working with really. The main ones though: CCNA (or whichever is the one before that) is never a bad idea Microsoft certifications focused towards the direction you wish to go in your career in IT are recognised world wide etc. Depending on what you've got to work with: VMware VCP is also very good Those alone should keep you busy for a while and will only improve a CV
supawat1 Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 I would recommend you to assess your current skills first and then think about what sort of career that you want to be in e.g. Technical or Management. If you want to be in Technical field then gain some certifications i.e. MCSE, CCNA, VMWare, etc But if you want to be in Management field then you probably want to start with HND, BSc and ITIL, these sorts of qualification will help you step into the field, while you are having some technical skills as an IT Technician.
