iPad reset?

Hi All,

 

Need a quick tried and tested solution please... To save Goooooogling for too long!

 

The Head has a new iPad and wants her old one to be for student use.

 

How do I nuke it so her old one has no personal info? Out of the box reset type of thing?

 

(I have no iPad experience please be gentle with me )

Anyone know of a way to register the iPad through a proxy? Don't seem to be able to configure the connection settings to use one on the setup part of the reset.

You can't iPads are a consumer device and not really designed to work with a proxy server. (once its setup you can add proxy settings)

 

If you plug it into iTunes with a machine connected to the internet (proxy or not) it will let you activate it.

If you press the home button on the Wireless page during setup, it should give you an Advanced Settings option, then join the wireless of your choice, click the little blue triangle at the side of the wireless network you're connected to and add the proxy settings in the relevent fields (does that even make sense? )

 

That works on the iPad Mini anyway...

Settings --> Wi-Fi --> press the name of the wireless network you want to connect to and enter in the password for said wifi network or if the ssid is hidden then one of the options should be 'Other' which should allow you to enter the ssid and other info in manually. Once connected to the network click on the blue triangle and you can adjust proxy settings

 

Reset as per above or hold down the home and power buttons together until you see the apple logo appear and then let go of both the buttons ( which I think is a DFU Reset )
