Advanced IP Scanner issue

I've been using this for sometime as it's great for turning computers on and off. Since we upgraded our network (unmanaged Procurve 2610 switches), Server 2012 and 32bit Windows 7, it has become very slow to scan and doesn't resolve a lot of the host names. Their Tech support asked me to send a screen image of a ping. That got me having a bit of a play and I found that I could ping a machine that the scanner manages to resolves the host name by pinging the ip address or the host name. I can ping the ip of the computers that don't show the host name but I can't ping the host name.

 

Anyone any idea what might be going on please?

Sounds like a DNS issues more than anything.

They are if you turn it on. I've got so many other things to sort out first before worrying about stuff that does work Convincing staff that their Windows 3.1 copy of Wordstar isn't going to work!

There's a forward DNS lookup and a reverse DNS lookup. Are both set up on the server?

No, my fault. The new server is x.x.x.2 and the Proxy sever is x.x.x.1 Guess what I had the dns set to?
