Alternatives to DigiBlue Cameras?

Hi guys,

 

Can anyone recommend a camera that takes stills and 30fps video to replace the god awful DigiBlue Cameras and Movie Creator 3.

 

We have recently deployed Windows 7 Pro (32bit) and to replace Movie Creator 3 (does not work on W7) we have installed Windows Live Movie Maker (Video Editing) and Monkey Jam (Stop Frame). We are testing the Digiblues with these using the button teqnique to get Windows to see them as a removable drive, but honestly the quality is sooo bad, it is a joke.

 

We want to purchase enough for a class, so they also have to be quite cheap. Any ideas..... Also any other ideas on software too?

 

*edit* Also if it could be used as a webcam, that would be great. This would only be for stop frame animation..

Hi,

We use the following;

 

Kodak PlayFull ZE1 Full HD 1080P

 

Staff and students love them. Simple to use and playback is good quality.
