Hi all,

 

First of all sorry that this isnt in the right section couldnt find one that it would be under.

 

so we have just got game maker studio for education but the little Ship wont launch on anyother account apart from admin (installer account) -_-

 

i have checked all the permissons on the folders and they are correct

 

and yoyo games wont even give me a call to talk to someone for trouble shooting it

 

i just want a simple button to say install for all users how hard is that to do.

Is this the demo? Only works for the user it's installed under. You have to buy a licence for the networked version.

Yes they make it difficult as the launcher actually just installs the program to the local profile which may not be allowed. If you buy it you get a nice MSI.........

no its not the demo version its the education version for studio, however there isnt an MSI for it

I don't know if I'd call it nice... took me a good few months of back-and-forth to get the HTML5 version working properly. The installer doesn't create all the folders it needs to run, and the permissions (file & registry) get silly.

 

Still, if anyone needs, I have it working now, I can hand the GPO report out.

I've been asked a few times, so for the sake of convenience, here's a report of the GPO settings I've used for the HTML5 version of GameMaker: http://sdrv.ms/1coIhH1

 

I don't know how many of them are relevant to other versions of GameMaker, as some of the particular struggles I had were related to compiling to HTML5, but it may give you a clue as to how to proceed.
