Windows 8 Downgrade GPT Issue

Sorry if I have posted this in the wrong location.

 

We have just got a new Windows 8 64-bit laptop. It has been decided that it would be easier to have Windows 7 on instead. Here's where we have the problem, when we have formatted the hard drive, but when we select the partition we want to install Windows onto we get the message:

"Windows cannot be installed to this disk. The selected disk is of the GPT partition style"

The disc we are trying to use to install is a Windows 7 32-bit disc. I am completely out of ideas so any help would be useful.

Go into diskpart from a console from the install media, select disk 0, clean, convert mbr, exit and it should work

I deleted all partitions....worked fine.

The issue is the way the hard drive is booting. It's trying to boot into UEFI mode which most new laptops with Windows 8 installed come setup with. What you need to do is go into the bios and disable Secure boot then boot from Legacy Bios mode. If it's an Acer laptop then it will also allow you to boot from the .EFI File on the Windows 7 Disk this will then allow it to install. If you have any issues please let me know the make of laptop. Il also make a quick youtube video for you if you are still unable to get it to work.
