dany2010 Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 Hi, Having a bit of a dumb moment. I have setup dfsr to replicate a folder between our five sites. I then setup a domain namespace on our systen so that when we type \\domain\share it heads to the nearest server rather than going accross the vlan. I am now trying to setup MDT which requires a standalone namespace but cant get my head around how these works. If i set one up, can it have five directories that it picks the fastest server like a domain namespace does? Which server would you have to point to get the namespace? Thanks
Hedghog Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 From my reading around this subject (MDT only) and some experimentation I believe that the best way to set MDT up is to co-locate it with WDS and DHCP. This way all the components to make it work are in one box so to speak. Do you have distributed DHCP/WDS? if you have I'm out of my depth. Hope this helps.

This is the guide we used here when it was first setup. Slightly smaller at 4 sites; but works the same. Tom.
