Wireless survey software

I've got a windows 8 acer W700 and I'm looking for a program that i can do a wireless network survey at my school.

 

Does anyone have a program or know of a app that would show wireless signal strengths?

inssider is a good program, just make sure you test to -70db, no higher than this though so -80db would be unacceptable and on android Wifi Analyzer.

@TechSupp how did you get on with that one? Did you have a map that you imported?

Meraki have a free wifi mapper.

Yes, got a plan of the school, imported it and then took a walk. Dont get me wrong, its free, so dobt expect the earth but saying that it does a good job giving a nice coloured graphical overlay on the plan of signal strengths.

Its only what ive been told and kinda makes sense. Apparently its to get the best through put.

@TechSupp I don't have a plan if our school so that might be a problem for me.

Try xirrus, ive used it at home to isolate connectivity problems an found ot be be straightforwrd to use.
