dconine Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 Hi, I have a Windows 7 computer which is opening PDF files, but they are showing as white instead of the traditional red and white icons. I reinstalled Adobe Reader on this computer and are still seeing the same issue. These pdf's are email attachments, and if I open them on a different computer they are fine. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Diana
mdench Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 Do they still open fine in Abobe reader when you click on the files? Open do you have to right click and do open with "Adobe Reader"? If the 2nd try opening default programs either using the search box in the menu or under All programs and checking to see if adobe reader has all the associated defaults set to it.
dconine Posted April 4, 2013 Author Posted April 4, 2013 They ask if you want to use Adobe reader to open them. What do you mean by checking associated defaults? mdench Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 If you right click one of the files and choose open with and choose adobe reader at the bottom there should be a tick box for always use this programme. This should then set adobe as the default programme. Which should then make the icon appear properly
