OSX Homepath Naming

Hi,

 

We are trying to set up access to the users old home folder path in workgroup manager, but does not seem to be correct, can anyone please let us know what is the correct string we should be typing. At the moment we are using smb://macserver/machomefolders which does show the folder, but then the user has to scroll through hundreds of user folders to find there own one.

 

Is there any equivalent of %username% for OSX. We've tried smb://macserver/machomefolders/$User and smb://macserver/machomefolders/$USER but these didn't work either.
