aminzkhhorbi Posted March 20, 2013 Posted March 20, 2013 Hello everybody, FIRST I'm from Tunisia, Last week, when i was updating my bios of my laptop (acer extensa 4630z) a blue screen appear suddenly (windows 8) and the bios update dose not finish yet and it stop there so i remove the battery and the power cable to turn off the laptop after this i open it but it dose not work : ( no processing- black screen - .... ) i see in this forum many solutions for this problem but not for my acer type i try to put the .fd file in a cd and in flash memory with pressing FN + ESC but it dose not work i hope someone help me Regards.
eddyc Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 You will need to complete the BIOS recover steps as outlined on the Acer website. If this does not work, then you will have no choice but to contact Acer who may charge you to restore the BIOS. Ed 1

Ed mu laptop is acer extensa 4630z and i don't no how to complete the installation of bios when the screen still black , and how can i call them please

speckytecky Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 Sadly I had a similar experience with another make of computer recently. This one was a desktop with an American Megatrends motherboard. It also ended up with a black screen on an attempted BIOS update. Why it failed I have no idea, the power didn't fail or anything but the machine had recently been restored to factory settings after blue screening. The BIOS update from CD had worked on another computer of the same make and model. The machine is working fine again now but only after the motherboard was replaced. I suspect this may well be what you need to do with your Acer.
