OWA access through Rev Proxy Using IE7 browser, Problems

Hello, I just wondered if anyone else has come across this problem, because it is doing my head in at the mo.

We provided reverse proxying for a school that runs a MS exchange server (do not know which version) our reverse proxy runs Apache 2.0.55-4. I have the config file for the exchange URL set to use http, when I try to log onto the exchange server from IE7 I get the authentication box pop up, I put all the correct credentials into the box and gain access. This is where it falls down, all I get back is 'page cannot be displayed'. If I try to access the same URL on a firefox browser I get the authentication box and then when I log in the OWA page is displayed. Now I have heard something about this before and it is a problem with IE7, I was just wondering what the fix is, and where it has to be completed i.e client side on the exchange server, or is it a fix that can be completed on the Apache box. I would rather have this fix on the exchange server as I know the reverse proxy works fine under different web browsers. All advise and help would be most grateful.

Thanks
