sidewinder Posted July 24, 2007 Posted July 24, 2007 These served our school well until a few years ago, they were installed late 2000/2001 I think So obviously they are not the latest and greatest but they are still OK for a small network One is a Intel 470T, the other is a 470F The 470T has 6 x 1GB Copper ports, and 2 GBIC ports. One is populated with an Intel SX fibre module, and I will fit the other one with an Allied Telesyn one The 470F has 8 x 1GB SC ports. There are no stacking ports on these so one of the ports will be needed to connect them together, as we used to do. Ive got all rack fixings I think, and pretty much all the manuals Also have an Intel 530T managed edge switch which has 22x100MB ports. This has the full selection of modules fitted in the back - the first is a 3 port stack matrix module, so the switch can have upto 3 slave 535T switches. It also has a 2 port 1000Base-SX module in there Then finally, I have a 24 port Intel 535T switch, which can be used as a standalone unmanaged switch or as a slave switch for the 530T They havent been used for a few years but I will test them as much as I can Right, the only thing is I cant really afford to post them, so anyone who wants them will have to be willing to come down to Thatcham to collect them. Im around for most of the holidays Also, I would prefer if just one person took the lot, to save messing around
Geoff Posted July 24, 2007 Posted July 24, 2007 I'd like them all. However I must ask my boss about it. How much for postage?
kylewilliamson Posted July 24, 2007 Posted July 24, 2007 If Geoff doesn't take them, I reckon we could. Drop me a PM if thier still avaliable.
sidewinder Posted July 25, 2007 Author Posted July 25, 2007 Geoff - I'll weigh them and try and get a rough postage price Kyle can you pick up in person? Because I would still prefer that to sorting out postage
strawberry Posted July 25, 2007 Posted July 25, 2007 If postage isn't an option i'd be more than happy to collect in person, although it might have to wait a week or 2 for the floods to sort out!
kylewilliamson Posted July 25, 2007 Posted July 25, 2007 sidewinder: yeah, shouldnt be a problem. we're only in southampton. Could possibly come up next week.
Geoff Posted July 26, 2007 Posted July 26, 2007 I need to know how much the postage will cost before I can get my boss to ok it.
kylewilliamson Posted July 26, 2007 Posted July 26, 2007 We'll take them if they're going. Could come up Tuesday next week?
sidewinder Posted July 26, 2007 Author Posted July 26, 2007 That would be great Kyle Sorry Geoff, hope you understand, its just easier for me to have someone collect them Will PM you Kyle
Geoff Posted July 27, 2007 Posted July 27, 2007 Not cricket sorry. I called first. If the postage is reasonable I'll pay it.
sidewinder Posted July 27, 2007 Author Posted July 27, 2007 I did say Right, the only thing is I cant really afford to post them, so anyone who wants them will have to be willing to come down to Thatcham to collect them. Im around for most of the holidays I never said I wanted to post them, and although I appreciate you are willing to pay for it, I still dont really have the time to box up 4 rather heavy switches and arrange a courier to collect them I really dont want to upset anyone here and I understand its first come first served (and if you collect they are most def yours) but at the end of the day I dont have to do this, it could quite easily be binned, Im just trying to help someone out, but I also do kind of reserve the right to take the option that is least hassle to me
FatLadZ Posted July 28, 2007 Posted July 28, 2007 Blimey your giving these babies away for free? Id like these also have they gone yet?
FatLadZ Posted July 28, 2007 Posted July 28, 2007 EDIT Just read through the post and have to say i cant blame you for going for the easier option fella. Afterall they were free.
