How to enable USB that is blocked by group policy

How to get access to the USB, it is blocked by the group policy.

 

The value under the USBSTOR is 3 for hexadecimal. How can I enable the USB if its blcked by Group Policy?

 

The USB does show under the device manager, but there is a red cross over it. When I right click and enable the device it gets enable for a moment and get disable again.

 

What can be done?

I am assuming as this is your first post and that you are asking us about this that you don't actually have admin rights to go onto group policy and just allow the device lol.

I think the point is that it kinda sounds like you are a user trying to bypass the restrictions on a network you don't manage. As you aren't known we can't tell if this is the case or not.

Your original question asked how to bypass a setting put in place by an administrator. If you are that administrator you will have the rights on the machine/network to allow you to have that setting not affect you. If you are not the administrator perhaps you should be talking to him/her and not us?

There must be a reason for it to be blocked. Your only real way round this is to get the policy changed.

bit touchy faizzsheikh. Exactly as the others said, if you don't have the rights to get to group policy settings, which for this will be on the server then maybe you shouldn't be playing with the settings put in place by your administrators.

To be honest @faizzsheikh I don't think that anyone here is going to help you circumvent restrictions put on your work network. Kinda our job to enforce network security

 

How about you talk to the person responsible for this restriction being in place?

no no, no need to be like that. So long as you use the computer then you own it, don't worry about the administrators they're irrelevant. all you need to do is press up , down, left , right , A, B C.

The reason for the USB being blocked is that some idiot has either uploaded something or down loaded something with a virus. If you are on a shared network at work, like I am, the virus will spread from one computer to another quite quickly. We have just had the same policy added onto our computers and laptops at work, they have left it so you can charge your blackberry, that is only because this is the type of work mobile all the managers are given. I personally have a Sony mobile and I can no longer charge it using the USB. I don't really know why you would want to use the USB apart from charging your phone etc. You shouldn't be using your work computer to download anything to a flash you can get fired for misuse of company property. If it's work related then speak to your IT department and they will take the block off. Other than that there is no way around it sorry.
