Standard user to install wireless home printer & software [Low Tech solution found?!]

This was baffling me. I needed a member of SMT to install his home wifi printer on a windows 8 machine. Installing the drivers beforehand (the raw drivers no extra software) wasn't going to work. (maybe via USB) but as you know Lexmark have their own print queue services extra. Also the full software won't install unless it finds the printer in question.

 

Anyhow I think I've thought of a cunning solution, I run the software here whilst the standard user is logged in. I then elevate via UAC the install program. I then put the laptop to sleep untill they go home, they install the software follow the wizard and when they're done they're still a standard user!

 

Does anyone know if the UAC elevation expires?

 

Anyway it was that or get them to bring in the printer and their home router:)
