imunro01 Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 Whilst accessing Users and Computers snap-in via RSAT on my PC, it seems that if I connect to our FSMO, everything runs fine. If I connect to our 2nd DC all my accesses are extremeley slow. I've added an extra DC to add redundancy in case this one is failing, and I can access the new DC absolutely fine. I can't see anything obviously wrong with the 2nd DC, and if I login via RDP to access it directly it seems fine there. Has anyone else experienced anythign similar, and if so what was the resolution Cheers Iain
Anilvirus Posted March 9, 2013 Posted March 9, 2013 Check your GC (global caralog), coz ur gc is marked in ur 1st one not with 2nd, thats why it is slow while connecting with 2nd one
ricki Posted March 9, 2013 Posted March 9, 2013 Check the event log of the slow server. Also sniff the network traffic for slow connections. Check that the ip setting are correct in the nic card on the server. If you are using a windows 2008 server you might have to disable ip 6 and things like chimney rss autotunneling. Plus do a netdiag and a dc diag. It might also be worth doing a raid check a drive might be failing. Richard
